All eyes will be on Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton in Texas on Sunday, with both the drivers and constructors championship within reach.
Hamilton sits a massive 59 points ahead of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel following the Scuderia’s collapse in the last three races, and will claim the title if his rival finishes sixth or lower. And, if Vettel fails to finish the race, or finishes ninth or lower, Hamilton could afford to finish second and still win the title.
However, a good weekend for Ferrari and Vettel would extent the title fight to the Mexican GP the following week.
From a constructors’ standpoint, Mercedes boast a massive 145-point lead over the Scuderia, meaning a fourth straight title is but a formality – unless Vettel can pull a rabbit out of the hat this weekend.
