Southampton are finally finding some form, with wins over Watford, West Brom and Manchester United the first time they’ve strung together three victories this season. Arsenal, on the other hand, have slipped lately, with a narrow defeat to Chelsea last time out following stalemates against Liverpool and Stoke. Although the Gunners did get back to winning ways against Burnley in the FA Cup, that performance wasn’t entirely convincing, and they will need to do better against the Saints.
Leicester City are still three points clear at the top of the Premier League, and can keep it that way with victory against one of England’s traditional heavyweights. Liverpool returned to winning ways with an epic 5-4 victory over Norwich last time out. The Reds had, however, tasted defeat twice in their previous three matches, as many losses as the Foxes have suffered all season. The first club to beat them was Arsenal back in September, and the second one was none other than Liverpool.
Manchester United have only won twice in their last 10 games, and tasted defeat in their most recent league match against Southampton before beating Championship side Derby County in the FA Cupon Friday. Their next opponents are Stoke City, who have been one of the most inconsistent sides in the league this season, but managed a 2-0 win over the Red Devils earlier in the campaign.
Chelsea finally seem to have turned the corner under Guus Hiddink, having now gone undefeated in their last seven Premier League matches (winning three of those), before a big 5-1 FA Cup win over MK Dons at the weekend. Their next opponents, Watford, have recently returned to winning ways after a run of four consecutive defeats, beating Newcastle in the league and Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup.
