– Western Province vs Free State headlines weekend
– Pumas look for another upset
– Blue Bulls set the pace
Round Two of South Africa’s premier domestic rugby tournament will be played out over the weekend with two games each on Friday and Saturday.
The Blue Bulls, Golden Lions and Western Province all racked up bonus-point wins last week while the Sharks were the only ‘big’ union to fail, losing to the Pumas in Nelspruit.
The Pumas now head to Jo’burg to face the Lions, with scrum-half Faf de Klerk providing inside knowledge on his Super Rugby team-mates. The Lions’ demolition of the EP Kings last week suggests they should be winners on home soil however.
Betting: Lions v Pumas
Likewise, after impressing last weekend, the Bulls putting on another bonus-point display looks like a safe bet as they welcome the Griquas to Pretoria. Francois Hougaard is in great form after scoring two tries in Bloem, so don’t be surprised to see him cross the chalk again.
Betting: Blue Bulls v Griquas
The Free State Cheetahs are looking to bounce back from a heavy defeat to the Bulls last week and even though they have a good record against Western Province, expect the defending champions to make it two-from-two at Newlands.
The Sharks will be eager to make amends for their false start when they host the EP Kings, so an accumulator bet of WP + Lions + Bulls + Sharks is likely to get you in the money.
Betting: Sharks v EP Kings
