Crystal Palace are looking to arrest a run of three consecutive defeats when they take on Stoke City in the FA Cup. The Eagles have now lost four of their last five, with the exception being a 2-1 win over Southampton in this competition. The Potters, meanwhile, were beaten 3-0 by Leicester City before getting knocked out of the League Cup on penalties to Liverpool, and should be determined not to exit two cup competitions in one week.
Betting: FA Cup
Liverpool are through to the League Cup final after their penalty shootout victory over Stoke, which follows a scintillating 5-4 league win over Norwich and a 3-0 success in the FA Cup over Exeter City, but despite those victories Jurgen Klopp’s side haven’t been at their best. The Reds will be hoping their luck continues against West Ham, who fought to a 2-2 draw with Manchester City at the weekend. The Hammers will take courage from the fact that they have already beaten Liverpool twice in the league this season, putting five past them without conceding.
Aston Villa are now undefeated in their last five matches in all competitions, with two wins including just their second Premier League victory of the season against Crystal Palace. This improved form will probably not, however, make the Premier League relegation favourites any better prepared to take on Manchester City. The Citizens have been held to draws twice in recent weeks, with Everton and West Ham, but will be expecting this game to be more similar to their recent 3-0 win over Norwich or 4-0 drubbing of Palace.
